Page a work in progress as far as formatting goes. This is long overdue though so I'm putting it up before it is finished.
Altermeta is about a group of teenage outcasts that are just dealing with the boredom of small town life however they can. Well.. that and fight ninjas. It's just simple, stupid fun and a view of the world seen through their eyes.
The world: It's called Cavris, it's not unlike Earth that's set in a late 1980's, early 90's time period. It has many of the same ups and downs as Earth. Any details that differ are shown through the comic and the characters. The people are called kuvrahks, they're not unlike anthropomorphic dragons. They're just like humans as far as their strengths and faults go, only they're dragon in nature with an alien-like twist to their biology. It's as simple as that.
The Old Comic: This was a first run of the comic back from 2001, published online in 2003 and ran until 2005. This part of the comic IS canon, but takes place 2 years ago in comic time. It has three specific chapters.
Chapter 0: Stuff Happens – A very short introduction of the main cast at the time. Summarizing this chapter is difficult. It's aim was to just introduce the characters with a bit of plot surrounding a rumor that Sasha and Rhi got it on together. It's original intent was to show that anything can be believed by others, and that this takes place in a relatively small town. (i.e. word gets around fast)
Chapter 1: The Sleep Over – Jo is bored, so she tries to have sleepover with her friends. Some shenanigans ensue when CC decides to invite Sasha along for the night.
Chapter 2: Nemesis – Throughout the comic so far, a strange villain has been introduced. In this chapter Sasha deals with this nemesis that plagues his sleep and the only way to do that is to meet up with T-squares aunt in order to employ her skills as a medium. Ruth encounters a nemesis of his own, a pestering demon of his past that he has to deal with.
(At this point the comic went on a seriously huge haitus. Real life happened and what was a very shaky hobby was shelved for a while until 2006 and part of 2007 was there an attempt to breath life back into the comic with..)
Chapter 3 and 4: The Lost Chapters – It was planned to be an entire story on it's own (and still is actually!), that takes place thousands of years ago. The characters were the same but in an entirely different setting with a much more serious, adult tone. This chapter was shelved after only two small chapters of work.
The New Comics: Two years after the Old Comics Chapter 3, the new comic starts. This is when things started to be taken more seriously, graduating from hobby to a low paying job. (but I love to do it!)
Chapter 0: More Stuff Happens – (27 pages total) - This is an unfocused section of comics yet again. Yet again it's intent was to show some character development. It's just a series of smaller scenes that have little to nothing to do with each other, but tells a lot about the characters themselves.
Chapter 2: The Play Date – (8 pages) D'shea and Sasha have some fun with a new video game. More about the still very new character of D'shea is learned. Oh yeah and somewhere in there is a silly April Fool's prank. Just one of those “you had to be there” moments.
Chapter 3: Dinner Plans – (55 pages) – Rutherford tags along with is father, Tesserly, to a dinner party at his boss' home. For once the mouthy Ruth is out of his element. As the night goes on, Rutherford learns how his friends see him, and even a little something about friendship itself.
Chapter 4: Ruler of the World Round 1 – (unknown pages) – CC and Boo fight it out in an imaginative, video game themed power-up fest of scantily clad carnage at the local faire. They may live to see the next day, but will the innocent onlookers be able to handle the battling beauties collateral damage?
